Valerie Oakes-Locascio, Vice President Valerie Oakes-Locascio, formerly a commercial banker specializing in trade finance, became interested in golf at the urging of her husband, John, who was an avid golfer. WGANJ fit the bill by providing a great learning experience and plenty of golfing friends. Valerie served as Finance Officer for five years on the WGANJ Board and as League Director for four years. Most recently, Valerie led WGANJ as President in 2024. She has also served as a league captain for over 15 years enjoying the social aspects of golf. Valerie believes that WGANJ is the perfect organization for women to learn to play golf, improve their game and make new friendships because she did just that. | Lynne Roe, Vice President Lynne Roe is a newer member of WGANJ having joined in 2023. While she has played golf off and on for the past 40 years, she feels that her golf has greatly improved this past year due to the many WGANJ events that have kept her playing all year long. Lynne is the owner of LSR Consultants. As a business coach, she works with business owners to scale their businesses while still having time for other things in their life - like golf! Pat O'Rourke,
Pat O’Rourke has
recently retired after more than 40 years in the insurance industry handling
various types of claims. She joined WGANJ in August of 2017 and played in
Paramus as a walk-on after not playing for over 7 years. Her first time on the
course resulted in a hole-in-one. She volunteered for as many events as
possible and began attending the monthly meetings. She was eventually invited
to join the Finance Committee. "I joined WGANJ to meet nice people, have
fun and be outside. I have not been disappointed.

Karen Mazowiecki joined WGANJ in 2015 as an advanced beginner and quickly began volunteering at events. In 2017 she became the co-captain and now captains her own league each year. Realizing what a great organization WGANJ is, she joined the Board of Directors as the Communications Director in 2018 and grew into the position of Operations Officer overseeing the website, app and email communications. In any spare time after work and golf, Karen enjoys time with her family, bicycling and doing yoga. | Cindy Parnes MD Logistics & Hospitality Officer Cindy Parnes MD always enjoyed both watching and participating in sports. In 2015 she was looking for a way to incorporate other sports into her life and expand her social circle. After a few golf lessons and meeting members of WGANJ she realized this was for her. She began to volunteer at individual events and in 2023 Cindy became more involved with the planning and organizing side of events. This year she looks forward to growing her role and responsibilities as a director combining all the things she enjoys; golf, good friendships and entertaining. Cindy has been a practicing gynecologist in Bergen County for over 30 years and is owner/director of a Woman's Wellness Center in Montvale. When not working or playing golf she also enjoy Pickleball, Barre and spending time with her family. |
BethAnn Iapicco Events Officer
BethAnn Iapicco has served on the Board of Directors since 2008 with various standing committees, including Leagues, Events and finally as President from 2012 to 2023. As the incoming Events officer for 2026, BethAnn plans to re-build the Events committee and bring new life to the group with fresh ideas and an exciting approach by inviting members to become involved in more activities. BethAnn has always enjoyed working with our Beginners' Program and seeing a member go from being a non-golfer to playing on the course in the span of one season. This year she hopes to draw on that experience and engage new members, involving them in various events to share the excitement that WGANJ offers. | Jeanne Vanrell Membership Officer Jeanne Vanrell -Jeanne joined WGANJ in 2018 after moving to Bergen County. Since she didn’t know a soul in North Jersey (she grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia), she wanted to start playing golf again after a 14-year hiatus. She felt she would find new friends at WGANJ and she found lots of them! She started volunteering for WGANJ in 2019. She has been the Director of Volunteers since 2024 and a League Captain since 2025. In 2026, she will be the Membership Officer with responsibilities for Membership and Volunteer Development. She retired from Verizon in 2024 after working for 40 years in the Telecommunications and IT industries. She and her husband Jason are avid sports fans and live in Teaneck, NJ. |
